Los Angeles Superior Court, Central Branch – Defendant was arrested from her apartment and charged with felony battery after her roommate told police that the defendant physically attacked her, pushing her into the wall and punching her in the chest before grabbing her hand and breaking her finger. Los Angeles Superior Court, Central Branch – The defendant was charged with attempted murder after he shot a man in the chest and stomach outside of his apartment building in broad daylight. After fleeing the scene and discarding the gun, he later turned himself in to police, saying that he shot the victim in self defense. The jury agreed and found him Not Guilty of all charges.

Los Angeles Superior Court, LAX Branch – The defendant was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after the vehicle she was operating collided with a stopped police car at 2 A.M. on a Friday morning near the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The officers conducted a DUI investigation and the defendant was arrested.
At trial, the defense was able to discredit the officers’ testimony so effectively that at the close of evidence, the prosecutor dismissed all DUI charges in exchange for a plea to a misdemeanor speeding ticket, with no fines or further punishment.

Los Angeles Superior Court, Long Beach Branch – The defendant was charged with drug possession after officers reported that they saw the defendant discard drugs near a vacant building. Furthermore, officers testified that, when asked, the defendant admitted that the drugs belonged to him.
The defense thoroughly cross-examined the officers about what happened that night and was able to highlight contradictions in their testimony. The defense provided further testimony from the defendant himself, as well as family and friends, about his background and history.
After hearing the evidence and argument, the jury returned a verdict of Not Guilty on all counts.

Los Angeles Superior Court, Central Branch – In this case, a woman claimed that a group of men abducted and attempted to rape her before she was able to free herself. Though the defendant was associated through a work relationship with a co-defendant (who was later convicted), the defense's cross-examination impugned the testimony from the prosecution's chief witness.
The jury returned a verdict of Not Guilty.

Los Angeles Superior Court, Central Branch – Defendant was arrested for possessing a loaded firearm after police searched his residence following an emergency call and found an illegally obtained gun. Los Angeles Superior Court, Central Branch – After giving birth to her baby at home, in her bathroom, the defendant allegedly left her child to die. Los Angeles Superior Court, Central Branch – The defendant in this case was an ex-gang member who had begun to put his life back together. He was charged with a murder and maintained his innocence. While preparing his defense, our Beverly Hills attorneys discovered that one of the key eyewitnesses may have been unduly influenced by detectives, who focused their case on the defendant to the exclusion of other possible suspects. The defense conducted an extensive independent investigation which, in part, prompted the District Attorney to dismiss the case. The defendant retained representation for a civil suit against the Los Angeles Police Department alleging false imprisonment.

Los Angeles Superior Court, Central Branch – The prosecutor from a special organized crime unit within the Los Angeles District Attorney's office argued the defendant in this case was a member of the Russian Mafia and responsible for an attempted murder, among other felony charges. Our Beverly Hills attorneys were able to call witness credibility into question through careful cross-examination. An expert for the defense also offered testimony negating the statements made by a key witness.
The jury returned a Not Guilty verdict for several counts, including the charge of attempted murder. The remaining charges resulted in a hung jury and the eventual dismissal of those charges.

Los Angeles Superior Court, Downey Branch – After an argument with her estranged husband, a woman alleged he physically abused her. Upon cross-examination, it was discovered that the wife's accusation was a lie. She wished to discredit her husband and depict him as hostile and dangerous in order that he be removed from their house. Furthermore, it was her aim to maintain custody of their children and require the husband to pay her rent and child support.
The jury returned Not Guilty verdicts on two out of four counts and was hung in favor of not guilty on remaining two counts, which were ultimately dismissed.

Los Angeles Superior Court, Central Branch – The defendant was a Spanish speaker who required an interpreter. The LAPD lie detector administrator claimed to be fluent in Spanish. His Spanish was marginal. The defense had an expert in Spanish linguistics review the alleged confession. He wrote a report stating that the defendant did not confess and that he was extremely confused by the interrogator’s inability to communicate properly in Spanish.
A defense motion to dismiss was granted midway through the trial when the Judge agreed with the defense; the prosecution’s evidence proved nothing.
